Process of Production

The process of rotomolding is one of the processes for forming plastics used to manufacture products which are hollow, convergent and without any remained stress. Very complicated shapes are produced with the least cost and wastage in this process. Rotomolding is done under the pressure of atmosphere and the materials are melted within the mold instead of melting materials and injecting them into the mold. In this process, a moldable powder substance is usually used to transfer suitable heat in molds.
 The effective factors in this process are: temperature, time of molding, way and speed of cooling, speed of mold rotation and the ratio of the speed of rotation axes.

This process is divided into four stages:

A) Charging
The mold which has been designed as a final product is opened in this stage, and a certain amount of a considered polymer substance –liquid or powder – is poured in the low half of the mold.

B) Heating
After the mold is closed, the machine starts to work and the mold is rotated round two vertical axes in the oven. The transfer of the heat in the oven causes the powder to reach its melting-point and begins to melt, and cover the inner surface of the mold monotonously.

C) Cooling
The rotating mold is put into the cooling chamber in this process. Through cooling the mold by means of sprinkling water or the air course, the polymer within the mold is also cooled and the final product is shaped.

D) Demolding
The machine stops working in this stage. Through opening the half of the mold, the final product is taken out of it.
